        • Grooming & Boundary Transgressions – inappropriate relationships or interactions.
        • Discrimination, Harassment & Abuse of Authority – based on race, gender, sexuality, etc.

        Responsibilities & Duty to Report

          • Every sport organization must implement policies aligned with the UCCMS.
          • Participants must report any violations they witness or experience.
          • The Independent Sport Integrity Office (OSIC) manages complaints for national-level sport.

          Sanctions & Accountability

            • Outlines how investigations happen and what sanctions may result.
            • Ensures a fair and transparent process for handling complaints.

            Education & Prevention

              • Encourages training and education as proactive tools.

              TT NORTH No Comments

The Table Tennis Club in Fort Smith is officially up and running at the Recreation Centre, and the community is buzzing with excitement! This long-awaited initiative is set to bring together Table Tennis enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.

Lesley Paulette has been the driving force behind this project, dedicating years of hard work to make it a reality. Lesley has previously assisted with officials’ clinics, participated in the 2024 55+ Games for Table Tennis, and organized the Prince Table Tennis fundraiser a few years back. Her passion for the game is evident, and she is eager to share it with the community.

Someone, Lesley, is sharing her excitement. “I am so excited to see this finally getting off the ground in our community. Table Tennis is an amazing sport that everyone can play and it’s so much fun. There are opportunities for young people to develop their skills and even try out for the Arctic Winter Games. And for old people like me it keeps our bodies and our minds active. What’s not to love about that?!”

The club will utilize legacy tables from the Arctic Winter Games to facilitate sessions for both adults and youths. Adult sessions will take place on Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, while youth sessions will be held on Fridays from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. For those who don’t have their own equipment yet, rackets and balls will be provided, just bring your enthusiasm!

Emily Prescott, Recreation & Special Events Coordinator “I’m excited to introduce table tennis to Fort Smith and help grow the sport. My vision for this initiative is to open doors to new opportunities, not only for local players but also for surrounding communities. I hope to establish Fort Smith as a hub for table tennis, where players of all skill levels can come together and build meaningful connections.”

The official opening of the Table Tennis Club will take place on April 25th at the Recreation Centre in the Foyer from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity for community members to come together, learn about the sport, and meet fellow table tennis enthusiasts.

Join us in celebrating the launch of the Fort Smith Table Tennis Club and be part of this exciting new chapter in our community!

TT4ALL Events at Samba K’E Park, N’dilo, and Dettah

              TT NORTH No Comments

This past weekend, we experienced an unforgettable day of table tennis spanning Samba K’E Park, N’dilo, and Dettah. It was truly heartwarming to see so many community members, kids and adults alike, join us to enjoy the sport across various venues, from scenic ice roads to vibrant community centers.

Our day began early at Samba K’E Park, where enthusiasts braved the chilly weather to warm up at our mobile table tennis setups. As we moved on to N’dilo, the energy was palpable, with local residents eagerly waiting to test their skills on both regular and small-sized tables. The highlight of our tour was in Dettah, where a sturdy concrete table became the center of spirited matches that captivated both players and spectators alike.

We are overwhelmed by the community turnout and the enthusiasm for Table Tennis, which has proven to be more than just a game, it’s a way to bring people together, foster community spirit, and encourage active living, even in the coldest months.

Looking ahead, we are excited to return to these communities and expand our reach to more locations in the near future. Our goal is to keep the momentum going and continue to build on the day’s success, making table tennis accessible to even more people.

We extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event a success. A special thanks goes to the Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA) for their support, which was instrumental in bringing this event to life. Your partnership helps us inspire more people to pick up a paddle, connect with their neighbors, and have fun.

Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for updates on future events and how you can get involved in spreading the joy of table tennis throughout our beautiful region.
