Leading sport and building capacity through mentorship and athlete autonomy- exploring sport performance through the fundamental joy of sport and overall fitness/active for life goals.

With over 12 years experience in coaching artistic gymnastics from active start to high performance and just under 10 years working in operational sport/fitness support and program development roles- Kassidy is continually finding ways to integrate and gain knowledge from other coaches and peers in the field. When she’s not servicing athletes and teams at the Oval or coaching in the XCEL Gymnastics program at Vancouver Phoenix Gymnastics club- she spends her time exploring the wilderness of British Columbia, taking psychology courses and loves helping people learn to do their first handstand!

While participating in high-school wrestling I dealt with various injuries due to improper training practices and not being fully prepared for the physical demands of the sport. Now, with my experience and educational background in Sports Science and Psychology, I have made it my goal to prepare youth and collegiate athletes to meet the demands of their sport, to reach their full potential, and to decrease their risk of injury. My classes are focused on the mastering of fundamental movement and lifting skills that transfer to performance and provide athletes with the motivation, and physical competence to move confidently and with control in a wide range of physical activity situations.

I combine my educational background in kinesiology and psychology, along with my experience working with high-performance youth athletes to deliver meaningful lessons that provide athletes with motivation, confidence, and the physical competence to engage in their sport and physical activity for life. My classes are focused on the mastering of fundamental movement and lifting skills that transfer to performance in sports and permit athletes to improve their ability to read the environment and make appropriate decisions, allowing them to move confidently and with control in a wide range of physical activity situations.
