The Table Tennis Club in Fort Smith is officially up and running at the Recreation Centre, and the community is buzzing with excitement! This long-awaited initiative is set to bring together Table Tennis enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.
Lesley Paulette has been the driving force behind this project, dedicating years of hard work to make it a reality. Lesley has previously assisted with officials’ clinics, participated in the 2024 55+ Games for Table Tennis, and organized the Prince Table Tennis fundraiser a few years back. Her passion for the game is evident, and she is eager to share it with the community.
Someone, Lesley, is sharing her excitement. “I am so excited to see this finally getting off the ground in our community. Table Tennis is an amazing sport that everyone can play and it’s so much fun. There are opportunities for young people to develop their skills and even try out for the Arctic Winter Games. And for old people like me it keeps our bodies and our minds active. What’s not to love about that?!”
The club will utilize legacy tables from the Arctic Winter Games to facilitate sessions for both adults and youths. Adult sessions will take place on Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, while youth sessions will be held on Fridays from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. For those who don’t have their own equipment yet, rackets and balls will be provided, just bring your enthusiasm!

My vision for this initiative is to open doors to new opportunities, not only for local players but also for surrounding communities. I hope to establish Fort Smith as a hub for table tennis, where players of all skill levels can come together and build meaningful connections.”
The official opening of the Table Tennis Club will take place on April 25th at the Recreation Centre in the Foyer from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity for community members to come together, learn about the sport, and meet fellow table tennis enthusiasts.
