Table Tennis North is proud to announce Lesley Paulette of Fort Smith as the recipient of the 2025 Spirit of the North Award, a recognition that celebrates individuals whose dedication and commitment help grow the sport across the Northwest Territories.

The Spirit of Sport Award is one of Table Tennis North’s most meaningful traditions. It acknowledges community leaders who strengthen Table Tennis not only through competition but through passion, mentorship, and service. This year, Lesley stands out as a shining example of what it means to uplift a community through sport.

For years, Lesley has been a driving force behind the growth of Table Tennis in Fort Smith. Her consistency has helped keep programs active, welcoming, and accessible for players of all ages. Whether setting up equipment, encouraging beginners, or ensuring youth have a safe and positive place to play, Lesley has been there every step of the way.

A former Team NT participant at the 55 Plus Games, she brings both experience and enthusiasm to her role. Her resilience, and her determination to keep kids engaged, has created opportunities that extend far beyond the table. The young athletes in Fort Smith are thriving because she has made sure the doors stay open and the paddles stay moving.

Lesley’s impact reflects the true spirit of the North. She builds belonging. She creates space. She shows what is possible when one person believes in community.

Table Tennis North congratulates Lesley on this well deserved honor and thanks her for the warmth, energy, and leadership she brings to the sport. Her dedication continues to inspire players, coaches, and volunteers across the territory.
